In 2002, only 42% of eligible Americans voted. Are you registered to vote? There’s still time before the 2006 elections. Depending on where you live, you’ll be voting on Senators, House Representatives and Governors, not to mention all the local positions in your city or district.

If this is your first time registering to vote, here’s what you need:
- Government-issued ID (driver’s license or state ID) or proof of address (current utility bill, bank statement or paycheck)
- Complete and sign a registration form. Download it here.
To vote, you must be:
- A U.S. citizen (native or naturalized)
- 18 years or older (on Election Day)
- Registered at least 30 days before an election
